Weda Resort is the only resort in Central Halmahera, North Maluku province. The resort is visited by many foreign tourists. Weda Resort provides services for divers and birdwatchers. There are bungalows made from local materials which creates paradise atmosphere. As for the restaurant is located in the center of the house which provides tasty food, fresh fruits, vegetables and meat, and especially seafood. Travelers who stay at the resort are directly contributed to the conservation of forests and coral reefs and the development of local communities in Sawai Itepo and Kobe Village.
Weda Resort applies Eco Resort concept which is environmental friendly, such as the use of solar water heater to provide hot water in the resort for the guests, utilizing ultra low emission engine for a dive boat, utilizing solar power and batteries to provide electricity at the resort, utilizing wind turbines for electricity top-up, and so on. The quality of the drinking water is also ensured with filters and UV technology. The resort is no air conditioning but it has been designed in such ways, so that it keeps the room cool when it is hot. Beds and bathrooms in this resort are also in accordance with hotel standards. The restaurant in this resort is non-smoking, and it provides Indonesian dishes of most, without using MSG and cooking oil in processing the food. The food provided is also Halal, and they also make fresh bread and french fries.
Diving, Snorkeling, and Dolphins Attraction
Weda Resort provides services for diving & snorkeling lovers and they will take you to the best spot, about 35 km (1 hour) from this resort. However, this service is not available from 1 June to 15 September due to strong winds and sea waves. In addition, you also can rent diving and snorkeling equipment at this resort. Weda Resort also ready to take you to see dolphins.

House Reef in Weda Resort
The shores of Weda Resort has a depth of 2-8 meters. Here you can find beautiful corals and lots of fish. In particular: sea horses, big lobsters and small black tip sharks. House Reef is a prohibition zone to catch since April 2011.
Pasir Putih (White Sand)
Pasir putih spot can be seen from boat.
Airport Reef
This site is a long shallow stretch of coral reefs along the northern coast Weda Bay. It is the perfect place to see glass fish, cardinal fish, and hundreds of other species. Like Pasir Putih, you will find the endemic of Halmahera, Walking Shark. The trip from the resort: 10 minutes.

Tanjung Uli (Cape Uli)
The diversity of soft and hard corals is huge in this place, that is home to millions of glass fish. Larger fish, such as black snappers, emperors, bump head parrot fish and more can be seen at a depth of snorkel. The trip from the resort: 20 minutes.
Shark Mountain
This is an under water mountain, which is located in deep water, 11 kilometers from the nearest beach, where the shallow is at 31 meters. There are sharks, schooling jack fish, barracudas, napoleon wrasses, tuna and so on.
Gemaf reef
This is a little strange dive site. Here you may easily see how corals can grow in large formations, then die, and form the basis of new corals, and so on. A huge sponge makes a greater adventure landscape. The trip from the resort: 30 minutes.
Gemaf Jetty
Both day and night, critters dive in this Selat Lembeh (strait) - like substrate.
Kawinet
Here you can find a collection of big fish that hunt or be hunted on the slopes with white sand and coral formations at the bottom. The trip from the resort: 35 minutes.
Small & Big Gorango Reef
This place is excellent if you want to see a lot of fish. Gorango is a local word meaning shark. The distance from the resort to Small Gorango Reef: 50 minutes. While Big Gorango Reef is not far from this location, only 5 minutes. This is a good place for exploration.
Tanjung Nanas (Cape Nanas)
This coral garden is located on the west coast, Weda Bay. The visibility is not that good but a lot of things that can be seen in this place. The trip from the resort: 15 minutes.
Mangroves
On the south coast of Weda Resort, within 12 kilometers of Weda city, there is mangroves on coast of a small island and shallow bay. Sometimes the visibility can be very good for diving activities. You can also enjoy the beautiful natural scenery here. The trip from the resort to the site is about 20 minutes.
Pulau Dua (Dua Island)
You will be impressed with the good condition of the corals and sponges in this area although it is at a shallow depth of 3 meters. The trip from the resort: 25 minutes.
Small Tidore Reef
Here you can see a big difference and a collection of large fish. In the shallows you can see octopus. The trip from the resort: 30 minutes. Two kilometers from this location, you can find Greeter Tidore reef, North West, East Side, South East, South West, and Sunken Tidore Reef.
Elmoos Reef
Some of the visitors think this is the best cliff they have ever visited. It is suitable for diving and snorkeling. There are 6 different diving spots at this place. You will also find some caves in the steep wall. The trip from the resort about 60 minutes.
Foya Wreck
Here you can see a Japanese shipwreck from World War II in good conditions, in the depth of 10-30 meters.
Moa Reef
There are a lot of shark reefs here.
Kayaking
You can rent kayaks at this resort and you will be transferred to the best place from the river through the forests and mangroves. Additionally, you can explore the coast of Weda Bay.
Birdwatching
There are many birds on the list that you can see in Weda Resort itself. For examples: white cockatoes, eclectus parrots, redcheek parrots, dusky scrubfowl, hornbills, paradise crows, goliath coucals, sombre kingfishers, Halmahera cuckooshrikes, Moluccan cuckooshrikes, blue capped fruitdoves, Halmahera flycatchers and rufous bellied trillers. There are any other species, such as ivory breasted pitta, invisible rail and Wallaca’s standardwing bird of paradise ywhich can be found near Weda Resort and in the forest of Sawai Eco tourism Foundation, which is the foundation of this resort.
Shuttle Facility
Weda Resort provides shuttle facilities for tourists who want to stay at this resort, either from Ternate Airport or Kao Airport, North Halmahera regency. The trip to the resort was quite far, but you will enjoy your vacation at this resort.
